For me, the action is the juice…

After over a year in development, my pal Ian over at Forgotten Weapons is at last bringing out his replica of the load bearing vests worn by Neil McCauley and Chris Shiherlis under their suit jackets in the climactic bank robbery scene of Michael Mann’s 1995 magnum opus, “Heat”.  It’s a niche product, but it’s cool as all hell, and I was fortunate enough to be the test dummy for the “Sizemore” (i.e. 2XL/3XL) variant.  We had an absolute ball filming this promo video, in the vein of an action carbine match attempting to replicate the scenes from the film.  Of course, Waingro had to show up and throw a monkey wrench into the works, but we managed to get away with two bags (which, if they’d actually been filled with Benjamins, might have paid for the ammo expenditure…)

All in all it was a fun morning, just having a good time on the range with good folks.  Sometimes you just gotta have some fun, eh?  If you decide you want one of these vests for your next costumed 2-gun match, check out his merch store to get in on the pre-order.
